The Vulcanetto di Monte Mojo, part of the Etna volcanic complex, rises far from the main volcano. The excursion begins with an uphill stretch over lava stone, crossing olive groves, oak trees, chestnut trees, and broom bushes, offering an immersion into the local flora. Once the summit is reached, a loop trail allows you to walk along the crater rim, admiring spectacular panoramas of Etna, the Alcantara Valley, and the Peloritani Mountains. After circumnavigating the crater, a path leads inside the extinct volcano, where you can admire majestic chestnut trees, some of remarkable size.
