The excursion begins with a guided visit to the Marinello Lakes Nature Reserve — a lagoon area of great ecological and scenic interest. After exploring this area, we head towards Tindari along the ancient trail called “Coda di Volpe” (Fox’s Tail). This path, approximately 1 km long and featuring a fairly demanding climb in some stretches, was historically used to connect the harbor area of Marinello to the ancient city of Tyndaris, and later served as a pilgrimage route to the Marian sanctuary.
Along the way, you can enjoy spectacular panoramas: to the north, the Aeolian Islands are visible; to the west, the picturesque Gulf of Patti; and to the east, Capo Milazzo — as well as the evocative view of the sandy formations of the Marinello lagoon. The visit continues at the Tindari Sanctuary — a place of great historical and spiritual significance — followed by exploration of the archaeological area of ancient Tyndaris, where an additional guide can be arranged on request.
