Meeting point at the area in front of Villa Giulia, on state road 113, at the Calavà junction. The guided excursion along the Capo Calavà Trail offers an immersion into the history and nature of Sicily. Starting from the bridge over the Calavà stream, near the Villa Giulia residence, the route follows a stretch of the ancient Via Consolare Pompea up to the Rocca di Capo Calavà — a granitic-pegmatitic massif with an old turret at its summit.
From here, you can admire a breathtaking panorama of the coastline and the Aeolian Islands, and in the evening hours, a stunning sunset. The trail, paved in stone in some stretches, is characterized by rich Mediterranean vegetation, including cork oak, downy oak, broom, heather, mastic, and Mediterranean asphodel. This excursion combines natural and historical elements, offering a unique and unforgettable experience.
Recommended excursion kit: hiking or sports shoes, long trousers, layered clothing (long-sleeved jacket, shirt, tank top), drinking water, sunscreen, hat.
