Meeting point here, then from Linguaglossa, in the Sciarramanica area, this cycling adventure takes you to explore the northern slopes of Etna all the way to Solicchiata. You’ll cross the historic 1981 lava flow and continue toward Verzella through landscapes dominated by vineyards, olive groves, and hazelnut orchards. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to admire ancient abandoned feudal farmhouses, nestled in lush Mediterranean scrub and surrounded by centuries-old oaks.

A highlight of the tour is the visit to the Byzantine Cuba, an 11th-century Paleolithic chapel located between the Alcantara River and the vineyards. This historic site offers a suggestive pause before continuing downhill on off-road trails along the river, leading you to the spectacular Alcantara Gorges. After a refreshing stop, you’ll continue the excursion along an off-road trail beside the river all the way to Giardini-Naxos, where the Alcantara River meets the Ionian Sea.
