Set off on an exciting quad adventure in the Nebrodi Park — one of the largest and most spectacular nature reserves in Europe. The excursion begins in Cesarò and winds through breathtaking landscapes, reaching three of the park’s main attractions:
- Lago Maulazzo (3h)
- Lago Biviere (4h)
- Catafurco Waterfalls (full day)
The full-day excursion includes a lunch break, which can be a packed lunch (brought personally) or a meal at a kiosk at the start of the trail leading to the waterfalls, where starters and grilled meats are available at €25 per person. Return is scheduled for around 6:00 PM. All excursions are accompanied by expert guides and include both paved and off-road stretches, with several stops along the way. For the full-day excursion (Maulazzo/Biviere/Catafurco), a minimum of 3 quads — i.e. 3 to 6 people in total — is required for the excursion to take place.
Lago Maulazzo
Lago Maulazzo, located on the northeastern slopes of Monte Soro, is a serene artificial lake surrounded by dense forests. This lake offers an idyllic setting — ideal for a relaxing break during the excursion. It is one of nature lovers’ favorite spots for its peaceful environment and rich biodiversity.
Lago Biviere
Continuing the excursion, you reach Lago Biviere — famous for its characteristic red coloration in summer, caused by the blooming of particular microalgae. This lake, also located in the municipality of Cesarò, is a birdwatcher’s paradise and offers a natural spectacle unlike any other.
Catafurco Waterfalls
The excursion continues towards the Catafurco Waterfalls, located near Galati Mamertino. These waterfalls, nestled in lush vegetation, are an ideal place to cool off and enjoy the natural beauty of the park. The crystal-clear water and natural pools formed by the waterfalls offer a perfect refuge during summer days.
