Departure | Contrada Jalari – Maloto (Me)
The Jalari Museum Park, set in the evocative Peloritani Mountains, is just 7 km from the center of Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto and extends over a vast area of 35 hectares. The park’s avenues are adorned with numerous stone sculptures and fountains, created by artist Mariano Pietrini, alongside the architectural works of Salvatore Pietrini. This unique route takes visitors from the avenue called “Confusion” to that of “Dreams,” offering a journey through the history, traditions, and culture that have shaped Sicily over the centuries.
Inside the park, the workshops hold over 15,000 artifacts, testament to the passion and craftsmanship of Sicilian master artisans. Accompanied by guides, visitors can explore themes such as classical mythology, history, philosophy, science, and art, in a setting that sparks curiosity and interest in all ages.
Beyond its natural and artistic wonders, the Jalari Museum Park offers a variety of activities: guided tours, arts and crafts demonstrations, educational workshops, and other recreational activities. It’s worth noting that the final stretch of road — approximately 800 meters in the Maloto hamlet — is not accessible to large buses. For this reason, suitable shuttles are available for the route at a cost of €2 per person.
