We begin our loop route from the Serro Cardà Refuge. With a little luck, we may spot fallow deer inside the enclosure. We continue along a dirt track to the Tre Pizzi recreational area, where an observation tower offers a breathtaking view of the Tyrrhenian coast, from Capo Calavà to Capo Milazzo.
After a short break, we head towards Piano Margi — a large recreational area of approximately 3 hectares. Equipped by the forestry service with benches, tables, and fire pits around an artificial lake, this is the ideal spot for our packed lunch. The first part of the excursion mainly involves climbs, while the return route brings us downhill back to the refuge where the cars are parked. This hiking and trekking route in Sicily offers an unforgettable experience amid spectacular panoramas and equipped natural areas — ideal for those who love exploring the nature and beauty of Castroreale and Piano Margi.
